Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Dexmerge handles, why it is used, who helps us operate the service, and the choices and requests available to you.
Effective October 15, 2026 Last updated October 16, 2026
1. Who is responsible
Dexmerge is operated by the Dexmerge team. For privacy questions or requests about your information, contact frankanya10@gmail.com or use Give feedback in the app. We may ask you to verify that you control the account before acting on a request.
2. Information we handle
- Account and sign-in: email address, account name, authentication status, and session information. If you use Google or GitHub sign-in, the provider returns the account information needed to create or sign in to your Dexmerge account; Dexmerge does not receive your provider password.
- Optional email preferences: whether you opted in to product and community updates, when you gave or renewed that consent, and whether you later unsubscribed.
- Profile: display name, avatar, role, headline, introduction, interests, skills, tools, collaboration preferences, and visibility settings.
- Content and interactions: posts, comments, reactions, saved items, project descriptions and links, contact details you choose to publish, contribution ideas, uploaded files, images, videos, voice notes, and other content you submit.
- Community activity: follows, connections, messages, hub memberships, invite activity, event RSVPs, room access and participation, and Code Space collaborators and edits needed to provide the features you use.
- Support and safety: reports and feedback you submit, including the name, email, page, and message you provide.
- Operational data: service providers may process device, browser, network, and diagnostic information such as IP address, request time, and error details to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
- Analytics: Google Analytics processes information about visits, such as pages viewed, browser and device details, referral information, and interaction events.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and maintain accounts; display profiles and content to the audience selected by the member; deliver feeds, search, messages, hubs, projects, events, and shared workspaces; notify members about relevant activity; send optional product and community emails only when you opt in; process feedback and safety reports; prevent abuse and protect the service; and meet legal obligations.
We also use Google Analytics to understand how people use Dexmerge, measure site usage, and improve the service. Analytics data may include page views, page addresses, browser and device information, referral information, and interaction events.
You can change your optional email choice any time from email preferences or from the link included in each update email.
Where data protection law requires a lawful basis, these activities may rely on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in operating and protecting a useful community, your consent for optional device permissions or other consent-based processing, or legal obligations. You can revoke browser microphone, camera, or screen permissions through browser settings.
4. Who can see information
Information is visible according to the feature and audience you choose. Public profiles, public posts, public projects, public files, and contact details you add to public project pages may be seen by guests and members. Your followers may receive updates from your public activity. Messages are intended for their participants; private workspaces and rooms are intended for admitted members. Other participants can copy or disclose information they receive.
Some account, membership, presence, and activity information is processed by the providers that operate the relevant feature. We do not publish private account credentials or passwords.
5. Providers and international processing
Dexmerge uses InsForge for authentication, database, file storage, and related backend services; GetStream for feeds, chat, and live audio/video; Resend for optional product and community update emails; Cloudflare for hosting and delivery; and Google Analytics to measure site usage. Google and GitHub may also process sign-in requests when you choose those providers. Account verification and password reset emails are handled by the authentication service.
When Google Analytics is active, analytics information about your visit is sent to Google for measurement and reporting. Google may process that information under its own privacy terms and in locations where it operates.
The Dexmerge InsForge backend is currently configured in the US East region. Providers may process information in other locations depending on their infrastructure and settings. Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
6. Microphone, camera, screen, and files
Live audio/video and screen-sharing features use your browser’s permission controls. When you join a room, the relevant media is processed to connect you with that room’s participants. Dexmerge does not claim that a room is recorded unless the feature clearly tells you that recording is taking place.
Files and media are handled by the storage and collaboration providers needed for the feature. Check the visibility and audience shown before posting or uploading. Do not upload information you do not have permission to share.
7. Cookies and browser storage
Essential cookies maintain and refresh sign-in sessions and help protect requests. Browser storage may remember a theme choice, a temporary email-verification flow, the current hub selection, whether you accepted the optional Code Space execution notice, and whether a one-time introduction has been shown. These items support app operation and preferences.
Google Analytics may use cookies or similar browser identifiers to distinguish visits and measure interactions. You can manage or clear cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect analytics measurement.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep account information while the account is active and retain other information for as long as needed to provide the feature, preserve the conversation or collaboration requested, handle reports and disputes, protect the service, or meet legal obligations. When information is deleted from active service, copies may remain temporarily in provider backups or records kept for safety or legal reasons. Providers apply their own retention and backup schedules.
To request access, correction, export, or deletion of information or your account, email frankanya10@gmail.com or submit private feedback. Deleting a post or account may not remove copies already downloaded, quoted, or retained by other participants or providers.
9. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact us using the details above. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. In Nigeria, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission receives data protection complaints.
10. Security and children
We use account verification, access controls, server-side authorization for administration, and secure transport where supported by the hosting platform. No internet service can promise perfect security. Protect your password and verification codes, use a unique password, and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Dexmerge is intended for people who can lawfully agree to this service and its data processing. If local law requires verifiable parent or guardian permission for a minor to use Dexmerge, the minor should not create an account unless that permission has been obtained through a process we provide. If you believe a child’s information has been provided without required permission, contact us so we can review and take appropriate steps.
11. Automated features and policy updates
Dexmerge may use profile details, interests, and community activity to show relevant people, posts, projects, and collaboration suggestions. We do not use those suggestions to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
We will update this page when our information practices materially change. The current policy and update date are shown above. If a change requires renewed agreement, we will ask before applying the affected feature.
